A FEW WORDS ABOUT THIS
GALLERY FROM LISE:
The
following pieces were inspired by some of my experiences as a performer at a number of
Celtic festivals. Our band, Saratoga Faire, plays a wide repertoire of Celtic
music with and without vocals. Interest in this genre of music lead to an
intense study of everything Celtic: culture, history and art. I became
intrigued, especially, with Celtic knots. The following pieces are hand-thrown
and were inspired by Celtic knots and not part
of Celtic history or ornament. In other words, they are my own original designs.
Examples are high fired to cone 10 (2350
degrees F). Pieces are non-porous, food-safe and will hold water indefinitely.
